Vacuum casting is a rapid prototyping process used for small-batch trial production or sample replication. First, a silicone soft mold is made from a master mold (such as a 3D-printed or CNC-machined part), then liquid materials like polyurethane are poured into the mold in a vacuum environment. After curing, the product is removed.
This process features low cost, short cycle time and high precision, and can replicate the details of the master mold accurately. However, the service life of the silicone soft mold is limited, so it is only suitable for small-batch production and is widely used in the product R&D stage.
